SPOTLIGHT: Melody Mostow
Melody Mostow, a junior at Mt. Lebanon, loves Israel! Melody fell in love with Israel during the spring semester of her sophomore year, on Tichon Ramah Yerushalayim (TRY). For the semester Melody lived in Jerusalem and attended Chava, an international boarding school. Melody took a variety of courses, including Israeli History, but learned even more from being immersed in Israeli culture. She experienced Israel on every level, "from touristy trips to the beach to simple grocery runs." TRY took the students on weekly tiyulim (field trips) all over Israel. They traveled to places like the Negev and the Kinneret. Melody admits, "I was in Israel for so long, the land quickly became my home." Now, back in her Pittsburgh home Melody, serves as Israel/World Affairs VP for CRUSY (the Central Region USY), sings with her family and enjoys all types of arts, but Melody says, "Israel is where I belong."
